She was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Metairie for the past 20 years, a currently has been a resident of Hammond for the last 4 months. Ms. Palmeri was a graduate of Soule Business College and was an Executive Secretary for Universal Furniture. Daughter of the late Lillian Douvillier Palmeri and Peter S. Palmeri, Sr. Sister of the late Joseph P. Palmeri, Peter S. Palmeri, Jr., and Alice Palmeri Otillio. Aunt of the late Peter and Joseph L. Palmeri. Survivors include many nieces and nephews, Miriam Palmeri, Marie Palmeri Lanzetta and her husband, Paul, Peter S. Palmeri, III and his wife Gaye, Brother Bernard Palmeri, C.S.C.; one step-nephew, Lester J. Otillio, Jr. and his wife, Eva; one step-niece, Necha Otillio Murphy and her husband, John. Also survived by many great nieces and great nephews. My love and appreciation to my nephew and his family, Peter S. Palmeri, III, his wife, Gaye H. Palmeri and their son, Stephen P. Palmeri for the love, care and loyalty that they gave to me.

Beloved husband of the late Doris Sehnert Messina to whom he was married for 57 years. Son of the late Joseph Messina and Laura Carlisi Messina. Father of John J. Messina of New Orleans, Dr. Larry J. Messina of Baton Rouge and Joseph T. Messina of Las Vegas. Father in law of Annette Messina and Linda Messina. Grandfather of Todd Messina and his wife Susie, John J. Messina, Jr. and his wife Pitrina Messina, Tommy Messina, Matt Messina and his wife Kate, Lauren Messina, Travis Messina, Carey Messina and Megan Messina. Great grandfather of Josephine Messina. Brother of Manuel J. Messina of Metairie and Francis M. Cefalu of Leland, Mississippi. Survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and God children. Known as ÙSBrotherÙT by his family, and ÙSJoeÙT by his many friends, he graduated from St. Aloysius High School and LSU in 1941 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He served during World War II as a Captain in the U.S. Air Corp. in the 20th Bomber Command in India. Worked for Texaco for 32 years in a managerial position in St. Louis, Peoria, Chicago and Los Angeles. Played the clarinet with the LSU Band while in college, the 175th American Legion Band, the LSU Alumni Band and the Memory Lane Band.
