Cherished Grandmother Of James Joseph Maumus And Wife, Marlene Brandon Of Tucson, Az, Joel Christopher And Wife, Dina Carrol Maumus Of Kenner, La, Jeffrey Christian And Emily Marie Maumus Of New Orleans, La; Christopher And Stephen Shambra Of Biloxi, Ms, Kaitlin And Matthew Shambra Of Hiram, Ga; And The Late Joseph Shambra And Jeremy Maumus. Great-Grandmother Of Lillian And Alexander Shambra. She Was The Sister Of Marvel Lamia Meuller Of Ennis, Montana. Daughter Of The Late Alice Duhon Hock Anselmo Graphia And Leroy Hock. Mrs. Shambra Was Born In Braithwaite, La On October 13, 1922 And Spent Most Of Her Childhood In Bogalusa, La. She Moved To New Orleans When She Was 12 And Graduated From St. Joseph High School In 1941. She Worked At Charity Hospital, The Telephone Company, And The International Harvester Company Where She Met And Married Nick Shambra, Her Husband Of 46 Years Until His Death In 1990. After Raising Their Four Children, Mrs. Shambra Worked For 20 Years In The Purchasing Department Of The University Of New Orleans. Mrs. Shambra Was A Faithful Parishioner Of St. James Major Catholic Church For 56 Years And Belonged To The Sodality, Knights Of Columbus Council 714 Ladies Auxiliary, St. James Major And Holy Cross Parent Organizations, And Was President Of The Cabrini High School Mothers' Club. She Is Also Survived By Many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews And Friends. Her Gentle Disposition, Gracious Hospitality And Generous Spirit Will Be Missed By All Who Knew Her. Relatives And Friends Are Invited To Attend The Visitation And Funeral Mass.Visitation Will Be At Jacob Schoen And Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street On Friday, October 1, 2004 Between The Hours Of 6:00 P.M. And 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass Will Be Celebrated At St. James Major Catholic Church, 3736 Gentilly Blvd. On Saturday, October 2, 2004 At 12:00 Noon With Visitation At The Church Beginning At 10:30 A.M.
