Burnett, Kathleen Ann (b. 2 Jun 1914, d. 19 Apr 2000)
Note: Kay Charcho obit - 2000
Message: Marin Independent Journal Saturday, April 29, 2000 Section B, page 2 Paid Death Notice CHARCHO, Kathleen Mae (Kay) - Surrounded by her loved ones, Kay Charcho died of congestive heart failure on April 19, 2000. Born in Raymond, Calif., in 1914, Kay was raised in San Francisco, where she spent most of her life. She was a graduate of Mission High School. In her later years, she moved to San Mateo and then to San Rafael. In addition to raising her family, Kay served the community in a number of administrative and supervisory positions, including opening the first Food Stamp and Fraud units while employed by the San Francisco Department of Social Services. Kay was a lifelong member of the Alberian Institute #93, Y.L.I. Kay is survived by her four children, Kathleen Luhrs; Patricia Harrod; Maureen Andreini; John Charcho; and her loving daughter-in-law, Mara Charcho. She was extremely close to and proud of her eleven grandchildren: Diane, Barbara, Joanie, Maureen, Susan, Patti, Bobby, Katie, Mara Lynn, Doreen and Colleen. She was also blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren. Kay's family, friends, and former co-workers will remember her always as having had a "heart of gold," a contagious zest for life, and possessing great wisdom from which others drew strength. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on May 20, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isabella's Church in San Rafael. Following the Mass, there will be a celebration of Kay's life for family and friends to share their treasured memories. Perhaps, this time, Kay will hear the Lord sing, "I will take you home again, Kathleen, where your heart will know no pain," as He joyfully escorts her into the loving arms of her husband, Johnny, and her beloved sisters, Aileen, Diana, Lillian, and Agnes.
