On Friday, Janruary 6, 1956 at 1:30 o'clock PM Nicolas (Nick) Caruso husband of Anderini Silbernagle father of Mrs. Preston J. Dieck, Mrs John W. Karcher, Vincent,Andrew, Nicolas,Frank and John Caruso also survived by 11 grandchildren age 67 years anative of Contessa Entelina Italy and a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana for the past 64 years. Relatives and friends of the family also employees of Railroad Express, New Orleans Engraving Co. and Municiple Auditorium are invited to attend the funeral on Sunday Janruary 8th 1956 at 2 o'clock PM from the Funeral Home of Jacob Schoen and sons 527 Elysian Fields Ave. Religious services at First English Lutheren Church 1626 Port St.Interment in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetary # 3.
The Family story is that both of his parents died in an epidemic. Relatives brought 3 year old Nicolo to New Orleans, Louisiana. We do not know the name of the relatives who brought him but , his parents were Vincenzo Caruso b. 10-8-1836 and Mattia Cusumano b. 9-15-1845 in Contessa Entelina. The above is from E.J.
