Note: Luca came to New Orleans on the SS Maurice Reunion on 3 May 1897. On his WWI draft registration card September 1918,he gives his address as 3629 Prytonia Street in New Orleans. He is a self-employed butcher. His nearest relative is his wife Anna Montalbano Pumilia. He is of medium height and build with black hair and black eyes.
Luca is in the 1910; Census Place: New Orleans Ward 12, Orleans, Louisiana; Roll: T624_524; Page: 5B; Enumeration District: 198; Image: 215 with his is his wife Annie and children; Joseph, Mary C., Maggie C., Frank, Rose, and Vincent. Luca is a butcher with his own shop and Annie is a helper. He came to the US in 1889, Annie came to the US in 1896.
Obituary-The Times Picayune, New Orleans, Louisiana. Luca Pumilia on Friday, March 6, 1970, at 7 p.m., husband of the late Anna Montalbano, father of Miss Mary Pumilia, Mrs. Gus Kogos, Mrs. J. P. Foto, Frank Pumilia and the late Joseph and Vincent Pumilia . brother of the late Mrs. Rosa Manale, survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren age 97 years, a native of Contessa Entellina, Italy and a resident of this city for the past 82 years. Relatives and friends of the family also officers and members of the Contessa Entellina Society are invited to attend the funeral. Services from the funeral home of Lamana-Panno-Falo, Inc. 625 North Rampart Street, near Municipal Auditorium, on Saturday, March 7, 1970 at 9:30 a.m.. Religious services at St. MaryŁus Italian Church. Interment in Metairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Saturday.
