Anna Catalano 68 was on US Caserta 8 June 1920 into the port of New York. Her complexion fair, hair gray, eyes gray with a mole on chin. She had been in US 1908 1911 in New Orleans. She was going to join her son Nicolo Mangiaracina in New Castle, California. It is stated on the ships manifest that she died in the hospital.

Mangiaracina, Nicholas or Nicolo' (b. 30 Nov 1873, d. 10 Oct 1941)

Note: From Anne Marie Rosado, 26 March 1898 "Because of a family argument when my grandparents and their siblings first immigrated to the United States, my Grandfather headed west to Northern California, never to have contact with his brothers again. The cousins in New Orleans never even knew we existed. We have gotten to know them quite well, sharing family history and pictures. It is through these lovely people that I learned that my great-grandparents, Guiseppe & Anna Mangiaracina were from Contessa Entellina.Nicolo is in the 1900 US census of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana. 4th precinct , 2 th district. ED 65, Pg 9B. He had come to the US in 1897, as did his wife. Nicolo', his wife Grazia, and daughter, Anna came to the US on the ship EMS into the port of New York December 3rd 1898.
On his WWI draft registration card September 12, 1918, he is listed as Nicolo, living in New Castle, Placer County, California. He is a self-employed farmer. His nearest relative is his wife, Grace Mangiaracina. He is of medium height, stout, with brown eyes and brown hair.
