Obituary from The Houston Post, Houston, Harris County, Texas, dated Sunday March 18, 1984. LEON A. SCHIRO, died Saturday, March 17, 1984. Born June 1, 1899, in Palermo, Sicily. Retired in 1971 from May Printing & Lithographing, formerly with Gulf Publishing Co. Member of Texas National Guard during World War I. Well known in the City of Houston Music Circles and first to sing on K.P.R.C. Radio. He attended the Houston Conservatory of Music. Member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. and a quartet "Four Flats and a Sharp". Member of Bering Memorial United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for many years. Survivors: Wife Mrs. Edith Marie Schiro; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Marie and J.E. Stubbs; son and daughter-in-law, Leon A.
