Note: Louis Genovese written as Jelavesse, is in the 1900 US census of Louisiana, Orleans parish, New Orleans, 10 th precinct, 3rd ward, ED 27, sheet 12 A. With him is his wife Anna they have been married for 13 years. Louis is an oyster dealer. She is the mother of 8 children, seven living. Also, Anthony 10, Mary 8, Phillip 6, Antoinette 5, Philamena 3, Annie 1, Nicholas 4 months. Luigi came to the US in 1885. Anna came to the US in 1869. On the same page are her parents Antonino Liuzza and Marianna Binni Liuzza.

Luigi is a fruit checker at a fruit wharf. Anthony is a bartender.

With him is his wife Anna, and children Louis, Jr., Nicholas, Joseph and Charles. Louis' profession is a dock worker. Louis Jr. is a machinist at a ship yard, so is Nicholas. Joseph is a carpenter at a shipyard. There is no profession listed for Charles who is 14.
